Korea Garden is not AYCE, but it's in my top three for Korean BBQ places in Hawaii. The meat is top quality and delicious and the banchan are next level. If you're looking for a nicer Korean BBQ experience, then this is the place for you! The service is great, very attentive staff will even help you cook up your grill meats and veggies, allowing everyone to dig in at once. The menu offers a very wide range of tasty Korean dishes, with many soups and noodle dishes on offer to go beyond what's on the grill. We've also tried their hot jap chae and several of their jun pancakes, all of which were excellent. Overall, this is a great upper-end K-barbs place which would be great for the whole family or for a nice date night.

IMPRESSIVE BANCHAN! Everything is really meant for family style thus the prices. We got 8 plates of banchan and we noticed one of the servers looking at our table and then she came back with 2 more! I thought 8 was already a good amount but apparently you're supposed to have more! We got the seafood soondubu (soft tofu) soup, tteokbokki, and meat jun. That was more than enough for two people but those are dishes that me and my partner really like. We're also good with eating leftovers so no food goes to waste! Tteokbokki (with cheese) was delicious, I would say it makes it to one of my top spots for tteokbokki, soondubu was great and they had a good amount of seafood in there, and the meat jun was delicious too! All the banchans were good, I love when they give fishcake and shoyu potatoes. Atmosphere - Lively and bright! Bright lights, gives me a vibe of a warm brick house, and the servers are hustling! Service - They are attentive and will check in with you! They make sure that you are good to go and you have everything you need! Cost - The range is around $19 - $30 for what we got and it depends on what you get. They have an extensive menu so there are a lot of options of what you can eat. For what we got plus tip, it was around $95. Parking - They do have a small parking lot in the front and I believe they have one behind as well. We walked. Location - It's on Kalākaua and Fern so it is a pretty busy street. I would come here again because the food is good and that banchan!

Honolulu has so much AMAZING Korean food and this place is my FAVORITE. Newer restaurant and very clean and modern inside. Lots of local KOREANS eat here. They offer the best free banchan side dishes I have ever had. So much great variety! Prices are higher here but the ingredients high end and well worth it. We come for their LUNCH SPECIALS where you get a hot stone barely rice, a dish (even the Galbi short ribs) and soup for around $25!!! This last visit we tried the seafood pancake. Wow!!! It was cooked to perfection and had a lot of seafood in it. Be sure to ask for barely tea to drink. Servers are attentive but you have to push the buzzer or they probably won't stop by your table after you order. Wish this place was in Seattle! At least it gives me a reason to visit at least a couple times a year!

We tried a mix of their classic dishes, and everything hit the spot. The banchan spread was generous and varied--pickled veggies, kimchi, and steamed egg all fresh and flavorful. A great start to the meal. Their BBQ meats were tender and well-marinated, especially the bulgogi which had that perfect sweet-savory balance. The pork belly was rich and satisfying with a good sear, and the dipping sauces added a nice touch. The kimchi stew had a deep, tangy broth with plenty of tofu and pork--comforting and full of flavor. We also had the seafood pancake, which was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and packed with scallions and bits of shrimp and squid. Ambiance is casual and cozy, with that classic old-school Korean restaurant feel. It wasn't too busy when we went, and service was friendly and quick. Portions are generous, and prices are fair for the amount and quality of food you get. Definitely a great spot if you're craving authentic Korean flavors without the touristy flash.

Korea Garden, my dental hygienist told me about this place while cleaning my teeth. All I could say was uhh uhh. Lol. She raved about the lunch menu the food was good and priced right. We parked in front of the restaurant and felt like we were in a restaurant in Korea. What a nice change of scenery. We decided to try and ordered Hangover soup and Bibimbap. I have to agree the service is fast and the food is delicious. I can't wait to go back.

We adore Korea Garden for its above average Korean Bbq and casual upscale charm. New-ish to the already crowded KBBQ scene in Honolulu the service and quality food are a notch above the norm. We love their selection on banchan, especially the fried eggplant dish that usually comes as a little surprise addition to the others. If you're not in the mood to grill it yourself, there are plenty of options from the kitchen on the menu. Great experience and highly recommended. Pro-tip...the main entrance and parking. is on Kalakaua but they have an ancillary parking lot on Kalakaulani Way with a back entrance.

I was craving some comfort korean food since it was cold and stormy outside. At first, we pulled up to the front of the restaurant and there were no parking stalls left and I was bummed since I thought we'd have to find somewhere else to eat. My boyfriend decided to drive in the back to see if there were any street parking and to our surprise, they have a back parking lot! There was a sweet parking attendant who pointed us to an open stall and held the umbrella over me when we walked to the doors! We were quickly seated and were in awe with the selection of their menu. It was hard choosing what to order since there were only 2 of us. We finally decided on the spicy tteokbokki and seafood pancake for the appetizer and soondubu with pork and spicy beef soup for our entrees. The banchans were so fresh and delicious! The kimchee tasted homemade! We munched on our banchans while we waited for our food (which was so quick!). The tteokbokki was perfectly chewy with that sweet/spicy kick! The seafood pancake was filled with veggies and seafood. My boyfriend devoured the soondubu and I loved my spicy beef soup. The service is incredible here! Our waitress routinely came in to check in on us, fill our waters when it was half full, and brought us extra banchans as well! The great service definitely made the food so much better! Great food, clean and neat restaurant with stellar service! This became my favorite korean restaurant! Highly recommend!!

I felt like I was in Seoul when I entered Korea Garden. Their setup is very much like a typical restaurant in Korea with many staff and good service. The crowd seemed very mixed with Korean tourist and locals. We tried meat jun, spicy pork, corvina fish, and beef broth tendon soup. They were all pretty good. Their portion is pretty big so you can easily share. Meat Jun for example was $25.99 but it's really for 2 people unless you are a big eater. You can ask for more side dishes. I think their price is reasonable. I would like to try their lunch menu next time.

Dinner at a Korean restaurant in Hawaii with a large group can be challenging so I headed to Yelp to do some research. Remember my buddy Allen N. had celebrated his and Deborah P.'s birthday there with a large group. First review I saw was Rod U.'s stellar review so I knew this had to be the place. Jo Y. also loved this restaurant so bada bing, need to dine here! Calling in to reserve a table was easy peasy! Parking was my only worry as the restaurant has limited parking in their front and back private lot. Thanks Donna O. for the parking tip! Pro tip: no flat charge. Show some love and tip the attendant for finding space! ! 5 stars in my book! Limited wait as the friendly staff said the party ahead of us was just about to leave. No worries because we were a bit early. Staff cleaned the table very efficiently. Impressed that many staff members were informed and checked on us often during our short wait. I knew Korea Garden gave a lot of banchan from the reviews I read, but Wowzers! Not only was it plentiful, but large in size! Impressive as there were ban chan that I had not ever tried like mung bean jelly! Our favorites were the fried Kim chee and the eggplant. We actually over ordered and had plenty of take out containers. Our visiting friends really enjoyed their meal and commented that they will never forget how great the service and quantities of food was served. Why not 5 stars? Maybe it's just me, but some of the dishes were too sweet.

I've been craving meat jun recently and decided to give Korea Garden a try since they were around the area I was running errands. They are located at where Home Bar was located so parking is available in front and in the back of the restaurant. Stalls are on the tight side. When you enter you'll see the dining area that seats small to mid size groups comfortably. Tables also have extra napkins and chopsticks on the side drawer if you need. Customer service was excellent and made the meal more enjoyable. Since I wanted meat jun, I knew what I wanted. The order comes with seaweed soup. Mink ordered the Lunch Special #3 - Healthy Stone Pot Rice + BBQ Chicken + Stew (Kimchi Stew). It didn't take long for the kitchen to get our order out and 8 different banchan dishes were provided. They randomly brought out 2 more in the middle of our meal which was awesome! Mink really enjoyed her meal and I thought the meat jun was quite tender. Flavors of everything were delicious. We both really enjoyed lunch and will be adding Korea Garden to our rotation of restaurants.
